Since 2008, countries that are part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) have beenrequired to apply for an ESTA online before taking a flight or boat to the U.S., or arriving by land from Mexico or Canada. Passengers who have not registered for ESTA risk being denied boarding, although they may be able to clear their status at the airport for a possible additional fee. The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a process for determining the admissibility of visitors to the United States to determine whether they pose a risk to homeland security or law enforcement. The system checks law enforcement databases. As of May 2, 2022, the I-94W form entry is replaced by the ESTA electronic authorization.
⚠️ Please note, if you have traveled to Cuba 🇨🇺 since January 12, 2021, you are no longer eligible for ESTA, please approach a U.S. consulate for a visa application.
